This year, we hosted the classic friends’ Thanksgiving. With 2 dogs, 2 tween girls, and 8 rowdy adults, we had a lively atmosphere and a darn good time. Cooking, games, and a little bit of wine all conspired for the perfect holiday.
We also paid a true tribute to the area’s bounty (very Pilgrim-esque, in my opinion), and the theme of our meal was to Go Local. Our yummy dinner included food from: Sherman Farm (cream, milk, veggies), the Portland Farmers’ Market (veggies), Smiling Hill Farm (whip cream), local bacon and turkey from Jarid’s work, Cabot’s creamery (butter), King Arthur’s Flour, Lakeside Farm potatoes, my Mom’s garden (onion, garlic), and Moutainside bakery (bread for stuffing).
